- Dec 16, 2021 · 3 years agoOpen P&L, also known as Open Profit and Loss, is an important concept in cryptocurrency trading. It refers to the unrealized profit or loss of a trader's open positions. When a trader buys or sells a cryptocurrency, they open a position. The open P&L is the difference between the current market value of the position and the initial cost of entering the position. If the market value of the position increases, the open P&L will show a profit. Conversely, if the market value decreases, the open P&L will show a loss. Traders often monitor their open P&L to gauge the performance of their trades and make informed decisions about when to close their positions.
