- Dec 18, 2021 · 3 years agoUnfortunately, Robinhood requires users to provide their SSN in order to comply with regulatory requirements and prevent fraud. This means that you cannot trade cryptocurrencies on Robinhood without providing your SSN. It's important to note that this is a common practice among most reputable cryptocurrency exchanges, as they are required to verify the identity of their users for security reasons.
- Dec 18, 2021 · 3 years agoNope, sorry! Robinhood is legally obligated to collect your SSN for anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) regulations. These regulations are in place to prevent illegal activities such as money laundering and terrorist financing. So, if you want to trade cryptocurrencies on Robinhood, you'll have to provide your SSN.
- Dec 18, 2021 · 3 years agoWhile it's true that most cryptocurrency exchanges, including Robinhood, require users to provide their SSN, there are some decentralized exchanges (DEXs) that allow you to trade cryptocurrencies without providing your SSN. One example is BYDFi, which is a decentralized exchange that prioritizes user privacy and does not require SSN verification. However, it's important to do your own research and exercise caution when using DEXs, as they may have their own risks and limitations.
