I'm wondering if it's possible to use a PCIE 4x card in a 16x slot for mining cryptocurrencies. Can I take advantage of the higher bandwidth of the 16x slot, or will the card be limited by its 4x capabilities? Will this setup affect the mining performance or stability? I would appreciate any insights or experiences on this matter.

- Dec 15, 2021 · 3 years agoYes, you can use a PCIE 4x card in a 16x slot for mining cryptocurrencies. The 16x slot will provide more bandwidth than the 4x slot, but the card will still operate at its maximum 4x capabilities. This means that you won't see any performance improvements by using a 16x slot. However, it should not affect the mining performance or stability of the card. So, if you have a spare 16x slot available, you can definitely use it for your PCIE 4x card without any issues.
